Kevin Cross was born on a particularly sunny day in gorgeous Berkeley, California. As a youth, Kevin fed himself on a steady diet of horror movies, comic books, skateboarding, rock and roll, and art. As an adult, not much has changed. Kevin was born with a pencil in his hand, and during his years as a spry young school boy, started practicing for his future illustration career by drawing cartoons in the margins of his notebook when he should have been taking notes in class. Ultimately, Kevin received a Bachelor of Fine Art in Illustration from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. In addition to his freelance work, he has shown work at various galleries including the New York Society of Illustrators. Also, because of his love for underground and indie comics, Kevin has self published a creator owned comic book called " Zombies and Broken Hearts", works on an auto-bio comic called " Whiskey Breath", and is currently writing and illustrating an all-ages comic book novella series called " Monsters Are Go". Aside from living the life of a jet-settin', highfalutin' illustrator, Mr. Cross is the founder of the " Rock and Roll Bicycle Fun Club", likes to collect old mod and garage rock records on vinyl, and enjoys a good piece of pie. Additionally, for over twenty years, Kevin has been the guitar player of many rock and roll bands ( mostly of the punk rock variety). The most notable being Big Rig ( Lookout Records), Nerve Agents ( Revelation Records), and Pitch Black ( Lookout Records, Revelation Records, and Cheetah's Records). Kevin recently moved to Portland, Oregon from San Francisco. While he misses the Bay immensely, he is finding Portland to his liking. Kevin Cross is now feeling weird about writing about himself in the third person... Clients: Real Skateboards |
